Quick Hint #66

One of the biggest annoyances with buying laser cut plastic is that the etched in detail is often hard to see once it’s on the gaming table. This is both frustrating and often makes you wonder why you spent so much money buying something where you can’t see the detail.

A great and easy solution to this is to use a wax crayon to colour in the etched areas. I recently bought some acrylic tokens for Dread Ball which had completely invisible words etched onto them. These are the stages I took to colour them in:

Starting with the plain token I use a Wax crayon to apply a coating of Wax to the lettering areas.

Next I use a piece of tissue to buff off all the excess Wax, leaving it only in the etched areas of the token. And that’s all there is to it.
