Quick Hint #20

Making Reusable Tokens

A lot of games these days require tokens, whether it’s for things such as recording that a unit has taken damage or marking the centre of some special effect. This can be an inconvenience as more tokens means more to carry around, more to store and more cost.

One solution to this is to make reusable tokens that can be used for many different games and this is something you can do very cheaply and quickly.

All you need is to cut a disk plain plasticard that will fit inside the lip of a circular round edged base. Glue it in place and job done. You now have a token that you can write on with dry wipe or non-permanent markers and clean off again once you don’t need it anymore.

For a quick tip on cutting circular base inserts see my previous Quick Hint on making Base Inserts.
