Reed Screens

A great way to make reed screening for huts or similar surfaces, is to use cross stitch fabric. It has a perfect weave for modeling in a variety of scales and being cotton can easily be dyed and shaped to fit whatever you want.

Below are some examples of a 15mm Vietnamese hut that uses this technique. The cloth was simply left to soak in a dilute brown ink and then allowed to dry before cutting to fit the panels.
