When painting high tech objects like vehicles or space craft you don’t need to have an expensive airbrush and apply layers of varnish to get a smooth glossy finish.
The results you see here on the car on the right was achieved with a can of Tamiya Metallic spray but you can equally use a gloss car body spray from your local auto shop. The trick is to apply several thin layers to avoid the paint running or sagging, so patience is a must.
I would also recommend that you paint any details like the stripes and windows first and mask them off, as acrylic paint doesn’t adhere very well to the gloss spray without a light sanding.
